Written Memories

In addition to the recorded interviews, a number of villagers had many years before written memoirs of their childhood, of which the following are extracts.

Margaret Moutrie, the daughter of William Gash, had lived in The Mill as a child and produced a small book of her memoirs, a copy of which is held in the Documents Archive.  Extracts from the book, read by Chris Ditcham, are included in the DVD "Elston Memories."
