The aim of the Oral History Project is to build up a sound archive of the memories of some of the oldest residents of Elston, making extracts accessible though exhibitions and the website and for the whole of the interviews to be available for purchase in DVD format. Originally started off by Robin Campbell, the work involved in managing this and the equally, if not more, time consuming task of leading the Headstone Project, proved too much for one person, especially as he had a full time career, and so David Ditcham took over the Oral History Project in 2008.
